Traditional Chinese Lion Dance Performance

to educate, protect, and spread Asian culture and traditions.

What is Lion Dance?

The lion dance is a traditional Chinese and Asian dance where people in a lion costume copy the movements of a lion to bring luck and fortune. It's often seen during Chinese New Year and other cultural festivals, as well as at business openings, celebrations, weddings, and to honor special guests in Chinese communities.

Lion dances are usually performed during Chinese New Year, grand openings, weddings, parades, festivals, and cultural celebrations. A typical performance includes lions, a team playing instruments, and a clown. There are two main styles of lions: Northern and Southern.

The Lion can show many feelings like curiosity, joy, hunger, fear, respect, and anger. It starts by respecting the object and then dances, doing kung fu moves, rolling, playing, and lifting. After playing, the Lion looks for food because it needs to be fed to win its spiritual battle and reach its goal.
