What is special about your one-on-one instruction?

Our private classes are customized for your learning pace. Our teacher will help you find the speed that works for you. You will have plenty of chances to practice and learn in class because you will be our main focus. Lessons will be changed to fit your way of learning and what you need.

Who will be my Chinese teacher?

Once you place an order, we will reach out to you to discuss your class schedule preferences. Afterwards, we will contact our teachers to find the most suitable match for you.

What’s your teachers’ background?

We have a young and energetic teaching team. Our teachers are both innovative and qualified. Most have a master's degree and an education background from respected universities in the U.S. and China. The majority are women and nearly all are native Chinese speakers. We also have teachers skilled in other Chinese dialects.

How will I be assessed?

You will get big and small assessments along with your Chinese learning journey with us. The big assessments are summative, such as baseline assessments or end-of-unit assessments.

The small assessments are the formative ones that will be carried out in every single lesson of yours. The teacher can figure out if you’ve mastered a grammar point by simply having a quick conversation with you. We also use HSK as a benchmark for assessing our students’ level of proficiency.

What Chinese textbook will I use?

We have a couple of our favorite Chinese textbooks, and we use them all. Very often, we don’t rush to the textbook because we want to get a better understanding of what our students want and need before deciding which textbook they need to use.

How is my tuition calculated?

Your tuition pays your teacher and covers rent, office expenses, administration, and taxes. Our main aim is to establish our reputation and expand. We make a profit of around 10-15% per class package.

What is your school's location?

Our fourth location in the northeastern region is in D.C. It's located in a nice, walkable neighborhood with lots of embassies and research centers nearby. The office is between the Dupont Circle and Farragut North stops on the Red Line, near Lafayette Square and the White House.

Please note that all classes and free trial lessons are appointment-based. No walk-ins are accepted.

Do you offer free lessons?

Yes, please feel free to sign up for a trial lesson on our website. In addition, there’re other ways to join our free Chinese lessons remotely.

Do you offer online Chinese lessons?

Yes, we offer online lessons for students from anywhere. Our online lessons are currently on sale and we have a special deal for essential workers. While our online lessons are suitable for all levels, we suggest beginners and children under 12 to take in-person classes as they are more effective.
