What Nanny Agencies Will Provide

Sishu Mandarin is a Chinese language school but over the years we’ve received many requests from parents who’re looking for Mandarin-speaking nannies and babysitters. That’s why we decided to help parents to find a suitable home helper for their kids at low or no cost. Although finding a nanny is not our expertise, we can help connect families to some of the best nanny agencies in NYC.

A nanny agency is usually able to help you find:

  • Part-Time and Full-Time Nannies and Mannies

  • Private Educators & Tutors

  • Mother's Helpers/Assistants

  • Event Care

  • Baby Nurses, night nurses & Doulas

  • Hotel Sitter

  • Special Needs Care Providers

  • Nanny Household Managers

  • Nanny Housekeepers

  • Travel Nannies

  • Personal Assistants/ Executive Assistants

  • Other Private Household staff members

A nanny agency will help find an NYC-based bilingual nanny who

  • has a genuine interest in cultivating curiosity and creativity within the kid(s)

  • is health-conscious

  • has the ability to follow directions and instruction

They will also help you find a nanny whose responsibilities are

  • Light baby-related laundry and tidying up

  • Maintaining a strong focus on developmental milestones and age-appropriate learning activities

  • Some evening and weekend hours

  • Potential to travel both domestically and internationally with family

  • Preparing creative, nutritious meals for the baby, and occasionally the parents

Nanny agencies will make sure your Mandarin-speaking nanny is

  • Experienced with toddlers and kids

  • Non-smoker

  • College-educated or have a master’s degree

  • Native Mandarin speakers (some might be also fluent in Cantonese or other dialects of Chinese)

  • Comfortable with pets

  • Willing to commute in the New York Metropolitan area

  • Background checked (or willing to have this conducted)

If you do not like to work with an agency (A “DIY” PROCESS)

What If I don’t want to work with an agency?

We understand working with an agency is not what all families look for. If you’d prefer a DIY process, we can offer three ways to help find a nanny for your child.

  1. 65+ nanny candidates have reached out to us because of their interest in being nannies. We can share their resumes or contact information with you. However, we do not endorse any of the candidates. Parents might need to screen and interview the candidates.

  2. We can help post a nanny job ad and translate the job description into Chinese. Our job ads often appear on the 1st page of Google. That’s also how you found us.

  3. One of our contacts has access to a 400-nanny group (au pair). We can help share your job information with the nanny group once we have the job description.

Please note we do not guarantee results since we’re not an agency, and there’s a possibility of not being able to find a nanny through our network. This is a “DIY” process. We’re merely sharing information with families and nannies. Parents need to screen the resumes, interview the candidates, and negotiate the compensation on their own.

How much do we charge for the service?

We will charge an extraordinarily small amount of consulting fee (starting from $159), a fraction of what you pay to a nanny agency depending on how much work you need from us.

In case you’re wondering what nanny agencies usually charge:

  • A one-time $200-500 non-refundable fee just to get your search started.

  • Plus commission: 15%-25% nanny’s gross annual salary after a successful placement.

Please note that our service is for information only, and we do not guarantee results. That’s also why we’re not charging thousands of dollars. Please understand the risk of not being able to find a nanny by utilizing our help. Your payment is non-refundable.
