Online Group Chinese Class Quick Look

How to Enroll

  1. Pay the registration fee to get your spot reserved.

  2. After we receive your registration fee, you will be invited to our Google Classroom where you will see class updates and materials.

  3. Sign up for the class to become an official student. Your monthly payment must be set up before your first class. You don’t have to make the monthly payment now. We will send you an email reminder once we approach the class start date.

 

Please Read Before You Sign Up

  • Since this is a group class setting, there will be no class cancellations, rescheduling, or make-up classes. However, you can cancel your membership at any time.

  • Free trial lesson is not available for group classes.

  • All students must choose a designated class appropriate to their level. Students can transfer to a higher or lower-level class should there be seats available.

  • Refund is not applicable to any group classes.

 

Absolute Beginner (HSK 1)

Schedules

Comfortable level

Level 1 (HSK 1) is ideal for those who have zero experience in learning Chinese. This level is equivalent to the first-year of Chinese course in college (Chinese 101) or high school (Chinese 1). We will use HSK 1 Standard Course for this level. A digital copy of the textbook will be shared after your official enrollment.

Students are expected to complete this level in 10-12 months.

 

Beginner High (HSK 2)

Schedules

  • 9:00-10:00 pm, Thursday (New)

    • Start date: 8/1/2024

  • 9:00-10:00 pm, Monday

    • Start date: 1/8/2024 (Existing)

Comfortable level

Level 2 (HSK 2) is ideal for those who have learned Chinese for at least 6-9 months and can successfully pass the HSK 2 test (with a 90+ score). Students should be able to recognize at least 250 Chinese characters.

Students are expected to complete this level in 10-12 months.

We will use HSK 2 Standard Course for this level. A digital copy of the textbook will be shared after your official enrollment.

 

Intermediate (HSK 3)

Schedules

  • 9:00-10:00 pm, Monday (New)

    • Start date: 10/7/2024

Comfortable level

Best for students who have studied Chinese for at least 1.5 years or those who have scored 90 or higher on both the HSK1 and HSK2 tests. This level might be slightly easier for those who passed HSK3). Students need to be able to read at least 600 characters. Students need to know how to type in Chinese and read Chinese characters. Writing ability is not a requirement but strongly preferred.

Although this class is accessible for those who are conversationally fluent, it might be challenging for students who don’t read or write any Chinese characters. 

How do I know if this is my level?

Try to describe what you did last weekend or what you do for work. Can you manage to have a 5-minute interactive conversation with a native Chinese-speaking person using only Chinese? If the answer is yes, you should be able to manage this level. Students are expected to complete this level in 12 months.

A digital copy of the textbook (HSK 3 Standard Course) will be shared after your official enrollment.

 

Intermediate High (HSK 4)

Comfortable levels

Best for students who have finished HSK 3 (scored 90+ on HSK 3 test) or who can read or mostly understand Chinese newspaper articles. Students can converse fluently in Chinese and recognize at least 1,000 Chinese characters. Students need to know how to type in Chinese. 

A digital copy of the textbook (HSK Standard Course 4A) will be shared after your official enrollment.

Students should complete level 4A in one year, and then move on to HSK 4B.
